24 hours of Political Psychology. Interdisciplinary Conference of the German Political Psychology Network

Hybrid Conference in Chemnitz and Online on March 10–11, 2022

10. - 11. März 2022
Organisator: German Political Psychology Network
Veranstaltungsort: Technische Universität Chemnitz

Political Psychology is a growing field of research at the intersection between Psychology, Political Science, Sociology, Communication Science, and other disciplines. The first meetings of the German Political Psychology Network were held at the FernUniversität in Hagen (2020) and at Friedrich-Schiller University Jena (2021). This network connects an interdisciplinary group of scientists from Germany and beyond.

We invite you to the third meeting of the German Political Psychology Network, to be held as a hybrid meeting on March 10th (afternoon) and March 11th (morning) 2022. This meeting is being organized by a group of researchers from the Chemnitz University of Technology. There will be no participation fee.

The conference will take place in hybrid format: presentation sessions will be conducted either in person at Chemnitz University of Technology or online via Zoom; poster sessions will be conducted fully online via GatherTown. Please note that due to COVID safety considerations, some participants may be asked to present online rather than in person.

We want to bring together researchers in the field of Political Psychology for a scientific meeting that aims at

  • exchanging research ideas,
  • developing collaborations and
  • discussing hot topics.

Researchers in all stages of their career are invited to participate and present. We especially encourage contributions from those with backgrounds typically underrepresented in the sciences.

Previous meetings have included topics such as ideology, political/social movements, the role of emotions in politics, ethnicity, gender, identity, political violence, voting behavior, misinformation and “fake news”, public opinion, leadership, and radicalization, but all topics related to political psychology are welcome.

Check out our website for more information about the conference. If you have any questions feel free to contact us via email.
